Objectives:
Students will work in groups to analyze a video poem and
give their thoughts to the rest of the class.
Assessments:
Shows competence and understand of the poem incorporated in
the video. Worked collaboratively in groups with little or no problems.
Closure:
Students pick a poem and begin brainstorming ideas of how to
represent the poem of their choice through video.
Assignments:
Begin filming and taking pictures to incorporate in their
own video poems.
Lesson Procedure:
1.
Split students up into 6 equal groups.
2.
Assign each group a video poem to watch and
analyze with questions such as:
a.
What did you think of the video?
b.
Do you think the images were appropriate to the
poem?
c.
What stood out to you most and why?
d.
If this was your video, what would you do
differently and why?
3.
Each group will show the video they saw and they
will led class discussion about the video poem.
4.
If there is time remaining, students will get
back into their original and begin talking about the poem they would like to
use for their own video poem and begin brainstorming ideas through use of
storyboarding, graphic organizers, or any other form of planning they prefer to
use.
